Day 1

This will take you approximately 3 hours - longer if you stop off in lovely Melbourne, stuffed with independent shops and great places to eat.
Day 2
Visit Calke Abbey & Park (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/calke-abbey)
Spend a day (and it will take at least a day to do it justice) going down the rabbit hole of Calke Abbey that is known nationally as a Time Warp House. Explore the beautiful and ancient parkland, stocked with red deer and then discover the fascinating Victorian walled garden which provided everything for a large house’s food needs. Talk about food miles/sustainability/seasonal produce!
Day 3 Relax in the Breedon Priory Spa (https://breedonprioryspa.co.uk)
This is another full day (if necessary) wallowing in the latest treatments provided by our neighbours at the Breedon Priory Spa, a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute car drive away.. Not only that but they have a proper restaurant there and a cocktail bar - no rabbit food establishment this! Book this via us and get a 10% discount.
Day 4 Visit King Richard III Exhibition, Leicester (https://kriii.com) This is a small but mightily interesting exhibition of the king found beneath the car park (on which the museum stands). Next door in the Cathedral you can see his tomb and then, in the old part of Leicester, go get some lunch at Bistro Pierre around the corner (https://www.bistrotpierre.co.uk).
Day 5
Tour around The Peak District & Chatsworth House (Palace in the Peak).
Definitely a full day as the Peak District has so much to see and do these days. Make Bakewell your target destination (approx 45 mins from Breedon), and go from there.
Day 6
Drop in to Staunton Harold, the Ferrers Centre and a remarkable Church.
Much closer to home, Staunton Harold is literally 5 mins drive from Breedon. Ask us for a private tour of the house as it is not open to the public, otherwise it's a good mornings’ or afternoon’s trip.
Day 7 Thrill to Motor Racing or Music Events at Donington Park.
Donington Race track has been updated and redeveloped over the past 5 years and is now an upto date circuit. Click here to see 2022’s race calendar https://doningtonpark.msv.com/Calendar. The Download Rock Festival (3 day) happens every year here in June (normally).
