BREEDON HALL'S HISTORY

Shown on the left is the only colour photograph we have of the Hall, we suspect taken about 1965. Note the glorious herbaceous borders either side of the Breedon amber gravelled drive. The old Acacia tree in front of the house is still struggling on but very soon it will be dead ... to be replaced by the current not insubstantial tree outside today.

Curzon House on the left is still arranged for stabling (we think) though we know that Capt.Shields kept his Rolls Royce in the coach house not in shot, and Meynell Mews on the right, rather darkly glimpsed through the hedge is definitely still stabling.

The Shields' family

the last one to live in the hall until us.
