This is us, Charles & Charlotte Meynell, in bed ... well, it is a B&B!
 
We've three boys, Cosmo (28), Felix (23) and Hector (18), the last one sharing the house with Luna and Snaffle, our cocker spaniels, and Tiger the cat. We like people to come and share a slice of our lives and we hugely enjoy meeting new people who come to stay with us.

Whilst we would never lay claim to 5-star status, as a former award-winning Alastair Sawday “Special Place to Stay”, and 'Excellent' rated  by Trip Advisor for the past 3 years' running* (* before the onset of Covid), and lately winning 'Best Serviced Small Accommodation Provider 2022 (Leicestershire Tourist Board, Nov 2022) we offer a high-quality and very personalised country house style bed & breakfast experience, with five ensuite bedrooms. 'Experience' is another way of saying we are fully signed up to the Alastair Sawday ethos: we are different, not bland and our personalities are very much part of our business!
 
We are popular with bridal parties preparing for their big day, booking the entire house out and taking advantage of the privacy & intimacy we feel able to offer, prior to 'launch'! Equally, we are often used as a family get-together place, a central spot for all to assemble, particularly utilising Meynell Mews,  the self-catering cottages.
 
Our own in-house catering is headed up by Charlotte, who already has a well-deserved reputation created over 30 years running her own business. Suffice to say she has never had to advertise.
 
We can host small events (no more than 40 in the house) or larger ones if you opt for a marquee in the garden. We're fully licensed too.
